The idea behind Jelly Blox is simple, yet clearly different from traditional building blocks: construction and sensory play come together in one toy.
The blocks can be stacked and connected to create different structures, but they can also be squeezed, stretched, twisted and explored by touch. Some of the blocks contain different sensory materials, such as sand, beads, foam balls, stars and other small elements. This gives the blocks different tactile qualities and adds a sensory dimension to construction play.
Stacking, squeezing, stretching and twisting help practise fine motor skills. Building can also encourage language and imaginative play: children can name colours and shapes, talk about their creations and invent their own stories around them.
